I love taking photos outdoors, but some of my absolutely favourite sessions, hands down, has been under the canopy of baby pink, snowy white, or bubble gum pink cherry blossoms!

I've shared this info before but not quite as in depth.
Not all cherry trees bloom at the same time. There are early bloomers which start with the Yoshina Cherry(the very light pink fluffy variety) , these bloom in the first to second week of APRIL and the deep pink 'Pendula Rosea', and the pure white Prunus 'Umineko' bloom in the latter part of the month.
The Kanzan Cherry is the most numerous type of Japanese cherry trees in Vancouver. Its blossoms consist of over twenty, dark pink petals which open around the middle of April. The short flowering period of a little more than a week is followed by beautiful blizzards of Kanzan petals that bury the cars parked below the trees. Kanzan trees can be found all over the city. They often decorate whole residential street blocks, and not seldomly for several consecutive blocks. Some Kanzan streets are Yew Street between Cornwall Avenue and Broadway, many blocks of West 7th Avenue east of Arbutus street, Granville Street between Davie and Robson Street, French Street between 70th and 72nd Avenue and many more.
Each tree only blooms for about a week emphasizing the impermanence and fleeting nature of life and beauty: then it makes its drop which looks like a blanket of snow white or pink.
Hopefully you've been able to enjoy our beautiful cherry blossoms around town - I know I have. And if you missed your chance for a memorable photo - there is alwasy next year! It is NEVER too early to book!
