November 1st and November 28th of 2026 are booking up fast but I still do have a few spots available. Message me at 604 328-1219 for fastest responses or go to my contact page and enter your info. Below I share some details about my Christmas mini sessions this year, in 2026, as well as a curated list of what to wear. Having been doing Christmas minis for over 14 years I definitely consider myself an expert on what seems to work best for clothing and stying.

This years Christmas / Holiday Sessions at my Vancouver studio are in this gorgeous natural light studio space with neutral and classic minimalistic styling. I have 4 different looks as options this year. Check out these renditions of our studio sets and take this holiday journey with me. I also thought in this blog post I would share with you the best outfits for this space. As you can see in the "virtual" family below(i know its AI, but it does really help you see what outfits work with the set). Beige's tans, creams and brown look gorgeous with this set.

The above Christmas mini session look is minimalistic holiday wreath in creams and tans with a cream backdrop : you could start your photos here and then move to the Christmas living room set, seen below.

Imagine yourselves sitting on this minimalistic cream couch, just chiling, cuddling and preserving this fleeting time in your lives together.

This photo is the pull back so you can see the whole lifestyle holiday set in this gorgeous space. I love the way I can capture candid moments in this space. I often have families around a Christmas themed book while mom and dad read - for natural genuine moments. The look here is again minimalistic but with more props and set pieces. I am so thrilled to get to rent this gorgeous natural light photography studio space with huge windows and white walls that offer such an elegant simple vibe in creams whites and evergreen greens.

Now imagine yourselves standing near this hanging garland in greens and burgundy. You could either add some burgundy to your clothing for this look, maybe a scarf or boots, sweater or heels,. A burgundy velvet dress would also look gorgeous mixed with tans and creams. Or you could do black, white/cream and burgundy. The photo below combines the two looks: creams,. earthy neutrals with burgundy. I love the way this palette works with both outdoor fall or indoor Christmas sessions.

SANTA will be coming to TOWN!! at Rochelle Elise Photography For many years I have been doing Christmas minis I have always wanted to do this!! And this year finally he is working his way from the North Pole to fill this gorgeous miminalistic space with his cheerful warmth and stunning velvet red suit.

I love the current trend of creating a more modern minimalistic Santa photo, that is still classic but candid and not perfectly posed. Getting those genuine reactions to Santa is my favourite. The below photos are for inspo. They are not my photos, but the shots are very similar to my style and the way this space would photograph with Santa and YOUR babies and children in it. OMG I can't wait!! When my son was little I took some candid shots of him (of course with my professional camera) and I still pull out the print each year and hang it on the wall. It is such a treasure to me, as he is clutching his hands with glee as he dreams BIG of what Santa will bring him.

Loving the PJ's here with Santa in white and green print with the strong RED of Santa's suit popping. It has a simplicity that makes for a striking image. Adding too much texture or colour in clothing would really take away from the awesome POP of this image.

The photo below with the red shoes is just precious on this little one. I love it!! Don't forget shoes are an accessories so don't forget to allow them to express your inner creative and playful self. Jewelery AND socks are also an excellent way to add some visual interest and personality to your photos.

What to wear for these Santa sessions? I love the look of the creams and whites, with a pop of black and OR with red accents. You could also go with a strong or deep green. I think keeping it really simple is key. for an epic photo. A print could work if it is either green and white, red and white, or black white. A black and white or cream and white stripe could really create some visual eye candy if you are bold in your taste. If soft tones are your favourite, pastel green mixed with cream would be gorgeous.

You could do fancy dressy clothes or casual PJ's, it all works!! If you need some more ideas go to Pinterest and put in "what to wear" for your family christmas mini session, and then enter also the specific style of these sessions. Words like minimalisitic and modern set style will help you get the result that works. See below a few other clothing looks I found on Pinterest that looked great with all the above 4 looks. The first shot below includes some gold with soft neutrals which i love. It brings.a bit a bling and shine to a more soft and neutral set.
